Having a fun time working on the reunion committee. Still working full time as a Realtor in the Danbury area. Enjoy my 2 grandchildren, Cailin and Benen most of all. Too bad we couldn't have our grandchildren first. Looking forward to seeing old friends. |

Hello to all my DHS '61 classmates! How much fun it is to see all your pictures on this website! After seeing these, I pulled out the old yearbook - all the great memories! I, too, can't believe that all these years have gone by. Are we really "Senior Citizens?" I think we are all still young at heart and always will be! Thank you to all who worked on putting this website together. It's great! I was sorry to see the list of "missing" classmates, and it broke my heart to read the list of deceased They will always be remembered.I left the Danbury area when my husband, Rocco,(DHS '60) and I got married. (This past June we celebrated 46 years!) We moved to Denver, CO while my husband got his MA Degree from DU, and then we moved to Chicago where we lived for 11 or 12 years. Then we moved to Andover, MA for 3 1/2 years, and for the last 30 years we have been in Winston-Salem, NC. We love North Carolina. We are close to the mountains and the beaches and we do get all 4 seasons. My husband's job moved us around. He is retired from what is now Lucent Technologies. I worked for about 9 years in a counseling center to help out while our kids were all in college. We are grandparents now and love it! We have 5 grandchildren(2 girls and 3 boys) ages 3 to 15. Two live in the next town from us, 1 lives in Memphis, TN, and the other 2 live in New Bern, NC which is down near the coast. Oh, how I wish we were able to come to the reunion, but we have done a lot of traveling, vacationing, and keeping grandchildren this summer, and we will be driving to Memphis the beginning of Oct. as our grandson will be turning 16! That's a special one! (Remember those days when we were 16!?) I will miss seeing everyone, But I know you will all have a wonderful time together renewing friendships and reminiscing the past. If any of you are on Facebook, look me up. Facebook helps me to keep in touch with my soon-to-be 16 yr. old grandson. He is very technology savvy! Have a wonderful 50th Reunion and may your years ahead be Happy and Healthy ones!! |

This is absolutely incredible as I look over some of the names and photos of my classmates of 1961. Many have said it and I will also...has it really been 50 years!!!! Just blows my mind. This is the first reunion that I have been able to attend and I would not miss this for the world!!! Since graduation, I have been a phys.ed teacher right there at DHS, the first women police officer there in Danbury, moved to Provincetown, MA. where I co-owner(then solely) owned a women's guest house, now for tshe past 21 years, I am a LMT-Licensed Massage Therapist, living in rural Maine on 70+ acres of land and totally off the grid - all solar. So much looking forward to this reunion.

Warm greetings to my DHS'61classmates! Leaving Danbury in the fall of 61 I continued my education in Bard College and MIT. I meet my husband at the less than romantic basement vending machines of MIT. Luis, born in China moved to Venezuela when he was 10, wanted to marry me but prudently gave me the opportunity to check out Venezuela first. For a glimpse of my life in Venezuela in the early 1970's check out my First Thangsgiving http://www.cards.quintasuzy.com/thanksgiving_08/ . Needless to say, there was never a dull moment living in Venezuela where I taught and conducted my research at the Universidad Simon Bolivar. Equipment and often times water were in short supply so one really had to innovate, not to mention constantly reassure the students that the text book really says "everything has a mirror image except, of course, vampires" that is not a mistake in translation. Now, do I need to explain vampires, as well as, chiral compounds? Leaving Venezuela in 2000, like gypsies we have been sampling different areas of the USA in a quest for where best to build our new nest. Having left my chemical profession behind me, in San Diego I began to apply my professional number crunching computer skills to a more satisfying and artistic pursuit namely, the designing of web sites and virtual cards. http://quintasuzy.com/ I just love my new hobby! Due to prior engagements my husband and I will not be able to attend the reunion. In closing we offer you this toast "Health, Wealth and Happiness and Time to Enjoy them!" |
